This French back to school activity is a great icebreaker for all levels of your classes – it’s fun and easy, and can be used with all levels of French.
The activity includes a slideshow of 35 different food items from around the Francophone world. Each slide has the name of the food, a large photo of the food, and the words soupe, salade and sandwich. Students can choose which category the food items fit in and you can start a fun discussion with your students. It’s a great way to break the ice and get your students feeling comfortable talking in your classroom – even if they don’t speak French yet!
There is also a printable set of images if you’d rather use that. In addition, there are several printable activities for your students, so you can have them writing as well as speaking.
