French cuisine cultural activity unit

Reviews

I used a couple of readings from this resource as a sub plan during a food unit. Frenchified always delivers high-quality resources and I have been grateful to have easy access to sub plans as things have come up unexpectedly this school year. Highly recommend.

Great resource! Thanks for putting this together!

— Linda S.

Very engaging lesson! My students enjoyed working on this!

— Sophia R.

I used this activity for a “walk about the room”. Students had questions to answer about each article and went to various “stations” in the room where the articles were posted. A nice variety to our foods unit.

— Julie S.

A nice independent activity for those who finish early. I only used the reading material and found it well written.

Frenchified makes great resources in general and this is a good one! I used it for a sub plan and my students enjoyed it.

These activities make lesson planning so easy and allow me to be more present with my students as a facilitator for their learning rather than worrying about developing my own materials. It saves me so much time.

I love everything from your store that I have purchased! I will be using these as emergency sub materials by providing the English AND French stories. If they are not needed before we start our food unit I will use it as an assignment as part of that and provide the French only! I will be back to purchase more from you as my personal budget allows 🙂 merci for making my first experience teaching French run smoothly.

These readings and the included videos at the end led to some great discussions on fast food in North America vs France.

Fantastic addition to any cultural and/or food unit! The information presented is authentic. Although challenging for the younger grades, there is definite value to the resource. With some adaptation it can easily be modified to suit the needs of your students.

Perfect addition to my Exploratory Cultures Class which includes French! Loved the links to fast food restaurants- eye opening for my 6th graders! They LOVED it!

— Suzanne C.

I liked the readings to give to my students to introduce French food, however, the webquest pieces were extremely hard to navigate even for myself so I had to adapt something else for my students.

My students loved the readings! Prompted some great discussions and really got them excited about the food unit. The fast food activity was also really awesome. My students loved looking at the menus from actual French fast food restaurants, especially comparing the American chains to the French ones. Thank you!

I am disappointed because I expected this unit to be in French. Although the reading passages are available in French, the questions and activities are in English. There are some grammatical errors in the French reading passages.

Just purchased this and it looks great. The only problem is that the link on the “un fast food” page does not work. Would you be able to update the link and provide a new version of the document? Thanks!
