Google agenda slides – a useful tool for organization

Do you use Google agenda slides or Powerpoint to organize your day?  Or maybe a smartboard?  If you’ve ever wanted to make your opening of class look classier, daily agenda slides might do the trick! I’ve long used the same format – a nice image as the background, plus some text on top.  But that means finding a new image each day, and sometimes the image doesn’t really fit the day’s theme.  Having an agenda slide ready to go saves time and allows for a predictable organization structure for students – and you!

The way it works is the base image has a photo and areas for text.  Then you can plop your text right on top of those areas – the labels are entirely editable, so you can set each area as you like.  You might use one for the agenda, one for the bell work, and one for birthdays and announcements.   Or you might put your daily objective or a quote – it’s up to you!

Where to find Google agenda slides

I have several sets of Google agenda slides with different world language themes and more will be added in the future.  What I’ve done each day in my virtual classes is put a photo of a place in the French-speaking world.  I’ve often had students ask me about the image in my background, and it’s a good conversation starter!  It also helps me to keep track of the different things that I need to bring up each day – announcements, current events, etc.  And of course, my students who are celebrating a birthday enjoy seeing their name on the background.
