Each slide has a question in English about the history, tradition or customs of Mardi Gras. If you’ve already learned about the holiday, use the game as a fun review. If you haven’t yet learned about the holiday, you could assign it as an activity where students need to look up the answers online.
The game starts with a path that needs to be followed – each section of the path contains three multiple-choice questions. If you answer the questions correctly, you’ll win a doubloon and move on to the next section. If you get a question incorrectly, you’ll need to redo that section. Finish all 30 questions and win the game.
The game is entirely self-correcting, so students can play through independently. You can assign it as a PowerPoint show, a Google slides presentation, or a pdf. If you’d like to play as a class, you can project the game on a whiteboard and work through it together. It’s a fun way to learn about the holiday that your students will enjoy!
