This fun beginning/intermediate level French back to school reading comprehension activity is a short story about a boy starting at a new school – his first day of high school. Things don’t go well for him, but the day starts to get better as it passes.
The story is in two versions – one in the present tense (perfect for students returning after the summer break having completed French level 1) and one in the past tense (for students returning after level 2). After you finish the readings, there are comprehension questions and a story retell/rewrite activity. The readings are in printable pdf form as well as a PowerPoint version of each reading – read together as a class or assign for individual reading.
