This French Easter vocabulary game is coming at just the right time – the weather is starting to get nicer, students are looking out the window with longing, high-stakes testing is either ongoing, coming up, or just finished. Sometimes you just need a fun, no-prep way to take a little break from the daily grind and this freebie is the perfect way to do it!
What’s the game?
The game is a “hunt” style game – students will follow a path to work through the game. Each section of the path leads to 3 different vocabulary questions, each having to do with spring and the Easter holiday. As students get the questions correct, it will push them along the path. If they get an incorrect answer, they will need to try again. Each question has either a text prompt in English, or a graphic of the item. All of your spring/Easter favorites are included – chocolate eggs, bunnies, lambs, rain, and more! It’s a fun way to learn and practice French Easter Vocabulary without a lot of stress or prep-work. And face it – many holiday words aren’t exactly high-frequency words that have to be drilled into oblivion!
How can I play the French Easter Vocabulary game?
The game comes in three versions: a pdf version, a PowerPoint show, and a Google slides version. You can share the game file with your students, and they can play individually by opening the file. You can also project the game onto a smartboard and play as a class. Either way, it’s pretty simple.
