Are you looking for an engaging and fun way to help your students learn about la Toussaint? As teachers, we understand how difficult it can be to make learning about holidays interesting. However, with our La Toussiant French Halloween Game, your students will have a blast!
Our easy-to-use no-prep game only requires access to a website for you and your students. Students can play individually or in teams as they search for keys to unlock locks. Plus no language barrier is created as the game is designed in English. Your level 1 students are just as capable of enjoying learning about the spooky legends of France with this game!
Not only is this game great for introducing a new unit or helping review at the end, but it can also be used to help your classes learn about cultural or historical events around those topics. Our digital escape game provides the perfect balance between fun and educational elements so everyone can benefit from playing.

This Toussaint French Halloween digital escape game item includes:

  • Access to a website where your students can play the game
  • Complete teacher’s guide to playing the game
  • Answer key so you can help students if they get stuck!

Topics in this Toussaint French Halloween game include:

  • chrysanthemums and la Toussaint
  • Pere Lachaise cemetery
  • haunted castles
  • A festival at Saint Sixte
  • the Paris catacombs

Your students will enjoy learning without even realizing that they are learning!  The challenging game format will get them excited about finding the code to unlock each lock – and the format of the clues for each lock will have them paying close attention – there’s no way to solve the puzzles without being 100% focused!

Prep is very easy – you just need to share the website URL with your students.  You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district.  As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones.  With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key – so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock – just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.

Note that if you are playing this on Oct 31/Nov 1, the sites get VERY busy. I have made many backup sites, but even those may get slow at times. Also, the French source sites may get overwhelmed on certain dates as well, but there is nothing I can do about that.

I have used this webquest for my French 2 class for the last several years. I have not been disappointed. The students have also really enjoyed them, even when we were remote in the fall of 2021. Thank you for all your effort and for sharing! – Amy M.

Students loved this! It was really well done and right up their alley (not too juvenile, engaging, etc). Thanks very much for this resource! – Bettina R.

This is a fun and engaging activity. ITs not in the Target language but it’s an engaging cultural activity. I would recommend the teacher studying it a little and trying it out before playing with students. Once you understand it however its an easy resource that can be used year after year. – Holly W.

If I could give this 6 stars I would. My students LOVED this activity! Even my class who enjoys virtually nothing (except a study hall) was moderately enthusiastic about this activity – and that’s saying something! I really hope to be able to incorporate more of these Escape Rooms in my courses in the future. Incroyable! Merci beaucoup!! – Olivia M.

This was a cool activity to do for All Saints Day. The students were captivated and loved the spooky aspects as well as the cultural aspects of the activity. The instructions are excellent and help the teacher to conduct the activity with success. – Elaine B.

So fun! My students were really engaged in this. I allowed them to work in pairs or individually, and everyone eventually solved the puzzles and “escaped” . I had some students who were initially frustrated, but they kept going and said they loved the feeling of having solved the puzzle when they figured it out on their own. I will definitely use this again! – Laura S.

I bought this to go along with a week-long mini unit for La Toussaint in 2019. Unfortunately, I had to be out that week, so I left this for my students to do with partners or in small groups, and even though I wasn’t there, the students were able to figure it out, and seemed to enjoy this. I used it again this past year (2020) with a new group of students who were also mostly in school, but did have some remote students, and it went even better than the year prior since I was able to show them how it worked a little easier than when I wasn’t here. This is not the first room I purchased from Frenchified, and I know it’s not the last either! Thank you for all your amazing resources! – French Field
