The news is full of stories about the spread of COVID-19, the newest strain of coronavirus. But what is a coronavirus, and how dangerous is it? What can we do to protect ourselves from it?

This reading for intermediate and advanced French learners (year 2 and above) will explain where the virus came from, how it became a pandemic, and what the symptoms are.
