Bonjour! Welcome and let me tell you a bit about Frenchified. My name is Heather and I’ve been a French teacher for 25 years. I got my degree in Russian from Arizona State University in 1993 but I found out that there weren’t very many Russian jobs available without moving. I got my secondary education certificate and did my student teaching in a classroom with 7 different preps – French levels 1-4 and Russian levels 1-3! I don’t know how my mentor teacher managed it on her own, but somehow she did. I learned how to be organized and not reinvent the wheel.

My teaching career

My first teaching job was teaching French levels 1-4 in an inner-city school. I’m still there, 29 years later. Our program has grown and now we have two full-time French teachers. I’ve used that experience plus my love of technology and design to start selling on TPT and on my own website.

I hope that my ideas and products are useful to many of the world language teachers out there. On a personal note, I am married and have three children – two in college and one in high school. We have a dog named Bigos who is a lot of fun. I’m a musician and currently play cello and viola da gamba. I enjoy traveling and look forward to retiring in a few years so that I can do TPT full time. My husband and I plan to retire to France, where there will be plenty of inspiration for me!
