It was kind of a boring day. It’s snowing again, but we should get a break in the next few days. We stayed home to watch hockey – they are FINALLY showing the Olympic games now that the quarterfinals have started. Since there were 4 games today, there was at least something to watch on TV.
More importantly, I took part of the day to finish doing my tax return and filing. It’s nice to be done with it for another year.
The construction work continues. They were using a drone earlier today to plan out what they need to dig up and they’ve been using a jackhammer all afternoon to break up a big concrete slab. They start work pretty early – 6:40 or so. They finish a little before 5 PM for the most part.
I did go to the gym today to get my steps in. I came back and Zbyszek was just lounging around, being lazy on the couch. He bought a Harlen Coban book in Polish and is reading it to see how his language skills are. He’s enjoying it, but some of the quirks about the Polish language are bugging him – the translator used a formal form every single time they talk to someone, and it doesn’t sound very lifelike. Maybe he should offer up his services as a translator! I’m sure it’s mostly done by AI now, with maybe a little bit of human editing to clean it up. Judging from some of the poor editing I’ve seen on novels in the past year, even that may not be happening.
