This French reading comprehension activity will teach your students about the Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint Georges – a composer and fencer who has been called “the Black Mozart.” Soon to be the subject of a feature film, your students will enjoy learning about his amazing life.
This French reading activity includes two versions of the article – one for intermediate learners (includes some passé composé and imparfait, best with teacher support), and one for advanced learners (includes imparfait, passé composé and expanded vocabulary). No matter which version you use with your students, the comprehension questions in French and English will allow them to show you that they’ve understood. Each reading includes a glossary at the bottom of each page.
The Joseph Bologne Boom™ cards version includes:
- Reading in French about the life of Joseph Bologne – in intermediate and advanced versions
- 9 multiple-choice comprehension questions in English
- 9 multiple-choice comprehension questions in French
Assign the cards you want students to do, with the English questions, the French questions, or a mixture of both. All questions are self-grading.
