It’s that time of year – teachers are tired and kids are excited, and everyone is ready for a break. Or maybe just a breakout? This La Navidad Spanish digital escape game is a fun Spanish digital escape game that you can have your students play that will teach them about the holiday celebrations across the Hispanic world. No papers, no locks – just digital!
How to play La Navidad Spanish digital escape game
Game play is pretty simple – just share the URL for the Navidad Spanish digital escape game with students and you’re ready to go. They will see a form with the different locks and an image on the front page. Scrolling over the image will take them to clickable links with clues and links to where they can find the answer. If they think they know the code to unlock one of the locks, they can enter it on the form on the front page.
Once they’ve found all of the codes, they will reach a “congratulations” page – have them take a screenshot to share with you as proof that they’ve finished the game. Some schools do block websites hosted on other domains – if this is the case, just let me know and I can easily make a copy of the game to host on your own site.
If you have not played a digital escape game before, please be warned that they can be challenging! The clues can be tricky and students will have to read carefully to determine what they are looking for. This leads to opportunities for differentiation – if you have a shorter class period, or if you have some students who will need extra time or help, you can easily adjust the assignment for them. You can give them one or two of the codes, or help them by giving them hints. Since you have all of the answers in the teacher guide, it’s pretty easy to help students when they get stuck.
